Jonny Paskowitz on Surfing, Society & Nature

FEATURE small.png

Surfer and second son of the Paskowitz Family talks at his home in Paris about his father, the legendary Dorian 'Doc' Paskowitz, the escapism of surfing and how society and nature intertwine or separate.

For those who are not familiar with the Paskowitz Family, they were the maverick family who travelled the US and beyond in a camper van surfing and living with nature. What ensued was an unconventional upbringing based around the philosophy and beliefs of Dorian 'Doc' Paskowitz their father that nature and living will give the skills and knowledge to live a great life.

Jonny has been in and around the surf world from his day 1, with him and his siblings surfing every day as a way of life. Worth checking out the film SURFWISE a biographical journey of their life and living as a family of 9 in a 24ft camper van.

"SURFING TAPS INTO SOMETHING THAT LETS YOU ESCAPE."

"DOC WAS A MIMIC OF NATURE AND THE PEOPLE WHO WERE FIT"

"I WAS EAGER TO IMMERSE MYSELF IN SOCIETY"
